
Renesse is situated in the north of the island Schouwen-Duiveland. A beautiful seaside resort with wide, clean beaches, interesting museums and beautiful nature areas. The sandy beach of Renesse is about 17 km long and is located beside the forest of Westerschouwen. Furthermore, the province of Zeeland has the most sun hours in the Netherlands during the summer. An excellent start for a lovely beach holiday.
The beaches of have won already several major awards. In 2023 the beach received the international 'Blue Flag' environmental award for the 25th time. It guarantees high quality of bathing water and a well kept clean beach. In 2017 received again the ‘Quality Coast Award’ for its high quality of human and nature-friendly tourism.

Renesse has several beautiful beaches. Each beach has its own unique features and charm:

Jan van Renesseweg
This is the main beach of Renesse located directly on Jan van Renesseweg. This beach is highly popular and has a lively atmosphere, especially during the summer. It is considered one of the finest beaches in Renesse. The beach is wide, clean, and offers excellent facilities, including a beach pavilion where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks with a view of the sea. The beach is also known for its beautiful dunes. It has all the facilities you would expect, including multiple beach pavilions, toilets, and lifeguard services.
Brouwersdam
Although technically just outside of Renesse, the Brouwersdam Beach is still a favorite destination for many visitors. The beach is located on Brouwersdam and is known for its excellent water sports opportunities, such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. The beach is wide and offers plenty of space for various activities.

't Klokje
't Klokje Beach is also located on Rampweg, north of Renesse. It distinguishes itself from the main beach by its quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. It is a beautiful beach, ideal for relaxation and enjoying nature. The beach offers ample space for beach activities and has facilities such as beach pavilions and toilets. The beach is also characterized by the proximity of campings and holiday parks, making it easily accessible for holidaymakers.

Watergat
This beach is located south of Renesse and can be accessed via Hoogenboomlaan. Watergat is a vast and peaceful beach, perfect for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. It is less crowded than the other beaches and offers natural beauty that attracts visitors. There is also a beach pavilion for snacks and drinks.
Each of these beaches has something unique to offer, depending on what you are looking for. Whether you want to relax in a tranquil natural setting, enjoy the lively atmosphere of a popular beach, or participate in water sports activities, Renesse has a beach that meets your needs.
The beaches, with showers to rinse of the salt seawater, will be cleaned everyday. Besides the rescue brigade will guard the beaches and warns when there is a dangerous current or wind; a pleasant and safe feeling.
Facilities
A sunbath or a walk along the beach, playing fun or water sports. The very well maintained, white beaches of will offer you peace and quietness. Optimum facilities will tribute to the comfort and with that the holiday pleasure of the guests. It starts with accessible beach crossings and parking places. Then there are the lifeguards and the rescue brigade whom watch over the well being of the guests, with a First aid post nearby. Furthermore the many cafes, terraces and restaurants near the beach will take care of the needs for serving drinks and snacks or lunch and diner.

On the beaches you will find flags and signs with instructions for swimming. It is wise to take account of these signals. They are there for you!

Dogs at the beach
The beach is the ideal destination for many dogs to enjoy. A Frisbee, a stick or a ball can fetch give great pleasure. And what is more fun than making a beach walk with your dog? However, on various beaches are dogs, loose or on a leash, not allowed all year.
Only leashed dogs are allowed on the beaches of Renesse during the period 1 May till 1 October between 10:00 till 19:00.
Outside of the above mentioned period and time are dogs allowed (both loose and leased) on the beaches of Renesse.
Further, we also recommend reading the information board, with the local beach rules, which is often placed near every beach (entrance).
Beach tips
- At low tide there is a strong current towards the sea, than stay close to shore. In case you get pulled in by the current do not try to swim straight against it, but swim slanting to the shore with the current. Also be aware of floating devices like air-beds, boats or other swimming devices.
- Do not get to close to the poles, piers or other obstacles.
- Watch your children carefully, do not let them alone near the water. Are there recognition signs on the beach, tell it to your children.
- Help to keep the beaches clean.
