De Prunje (Prunjepolder) - Nature

The Prunje, also known as Prunjepolder, forms the most well-known sub-area within Plan Tureluur.
- Bird paradise: the most famous spot for birdwatchers with huge numbers of waders and migratory birds, especially in spring and autumn.
Prunjehil: multiple viewpoints located in the heart of the area, offering excellent photo opportunities.- Education: information panels and excursions organised by nature organisations also make the area interesting for families and schools.
- Seasons: in summer, a breeding ground for avocets and terns; in winter, a resting place for thousands of geese and ducks.
Practical information
- Parking: From the car park at Flaauwershaven, you have an excellent starting point to discover this bird-rich nature reserve.
- Routes: Explore the area via the various cycling and walking paths. Along the way, you will find information panels and picnic spots along the dikes – be sure to bring binoculars.
- Tip: During the spring and autumn migration, Plan Tureluur is at its most spectacular. At these times, you can sometimes see thousands of birds feeding and flying overhead simultaneously.
