New Year's Day plunge 2027

UPDATE: The New Year’s Dip 2026 in Renesse has been cancelled today. According to the organisers, the wind is too strong (force 7), making swimming conditions unsafe.

On 1 January, the new year starts on Schouwen-Duiveland with a refreshing tradition: the New Year's Dip of Westerschouwen. This tradition, held annually since 1996, provides much entertainment on the beaches. For the 27th time, locals and tourists gather at the Westenschouwen stairs to take a chilly dip in the North Sea, near Burgh-Haamstede.
