Korenmolen De Lelie - Mill

Corn mill De Lelie is an atmospheric historic mill near Scharendijke, in the hamlet of Elkerzee on Schouwen-Duiveland. You will find the mill on the Kloosterweg, just outside the village and a short distance from the Grevelingenmeer.
What can you expect at Korenmolen De Lelie?
- Historic corn mill: The mill was built in 1868 and is a round stone ground-sailer. With this type of mill, the sails come close to the ground, allowing the miller to operate the mill from ground level.
- Striking landmark: Thanks to its white tower and red, white and blue details, De Lelie is easy to recognise from a distance. The mill makes a lovely photo stop during a walk or cycle ride through the area.
- Pancakes by the mill: Next to the mill, there is a restaurant where pancakes are made, including some using flour from the mill. This makes it a pleasant place for lunch, a coffee break or a stop with children.
Practical information
Corn mill De Lelie is not a major attraction that requires hours of your time, but rather a pleasant and accessible stop.
- Beautifully located on Schouwen-Duiveland: Because of its location, the mill is a convenient place to pause during a trip towards the Grevelingenmeer, the Brouwersdam, Renesse or the surrounding villages.
- Visiting the mill: The mill is not always freely accessible. When the mill is turning or the millers are present, you may sometimes be able to have a look inside and learn more about the milling of grain.
